Getting Here

The preserve is located in the Town of Pulaski, Iowa County, near the intersection of North Prairie Road and Old Hwy 80, Town of Pulaski, Iowa County. There is no formal parking or fire number. If you would like detailed directions please submit a contact form or call our office at 608-930-3252.

Parking

There is no formal parking area. Parking on the shoulder of the road is permitted.

Trails and Other Features

Due to the steep hillsides and sensitive species present on this site, there are no trails on this property.

Accessibility

Morrison Preserve is difficult to access due to its steepness and lack of trails and parking. However, it is located in a beautiful part of Iowa County that is well worth a drive through.

Preserve Rules

Preserve hours are dawn to dusk. Camping and building campfires are not allowed.
Foot traffic only. Horseback riding, bicycles, and motorized equipment are not permitted on the preserve.
Keep dogs on a leash at all times. Off-leash dogs can stress, injure, or kill wildlife, and may create an unpleasant experience for other visitors.
Leave no trace. Carry out everything that you carry in, including garbage and pet waste.
Morrison Prairie & Forest Preserve is open for public hunting. Contact Land Management Specialist Zach Pacana for permitting and access information.

Darrel Morrison sold this beautiful property to Driftless Area Land Conservancy in a bargain sale in 2019. A distinguished landscape architect known for designing prairie-inspired gardens using native plants, Darrel is a former professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Georgia, and Columbia University. One of his biggest projects is a partnership on a large ranch in Montana. Darrel's generosity will allow us to steward and share this gorgeous gem for many generations to come.
