The Gift of a Lifetime

Join Driftless Area Land Conservancy's Legacy Society!

The Driftless Area is a profoundly meaningful place for countless people to connect to nature, make their living from the land, and explore the unique wonders of this incredible region. Its future depends on the decisions made today. You can choose to make your legacy the protection of the Driftless Area. This gift is one that lasts forever and preserves the region for future generations.

Anyone who has made a planned gift to Driftless Area Land Conservancy and completed a Note of Intent is eligible for membership in the DALC Legacy Society. So simple! There are no fees or minimum investments required.

As a Legacy Society member, you’ll receive exclusive invites to events like the annual Legacy Picnic and the opportunity to share why conservation in the Driftless area is important to you. If you wish, you’ll also be recognized in our annual report so that the whole community can express their gratitude to you.

And right now, your future gift will help us unlock up to $10,000! Board member Mark Mittelstadt, one of DALC's founders, has generously pledged to donate $1,000 to Driftless Area Land Conservancy in honor of every new member of the Legacy Society. But, this will only apply to the first ten new members. If you’re interested in joining the Legacy Society, let us know by submitting a Note of Intent and unlock a gift in your honor!

Tools for Creating a Legacy of Conservation

Bequest Language:

You may designate your bequest to be used by DALC for its general charitable purposes by including the following language in your will or trust:

I give _________ to Driftless Area Land Conservancy, Inc., a Wisconsin nonprofit, nonstock corporation that is recognized as exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (as amended) with principal offices located in Dodgeville, Wisconsin (or successor organization), to be used for its general charitable purposes.

Bequest language may vary from state to state, so it is advisable to use an attorney who understand local estate laws. With that in mind, you may want to provide the following information to your attorney:

Official Name: Driftless Area Land Conservancy, Inc.

Federal ID: 39-2017802

Primary place of business: 206 S. Iowa Street P.O. Box 323 Dodgeville, Wisconsin 53533
