Make Your Voice Heard for Bloomfield Prairie

Iowa County is beginning a new planning process for the future of Bloomfield Prairie. Public listening sessions will be held Wednesday, January 24th, at 6pm, and Tuesday, January 30th at 2pm and 6pm, at the Dodgeville Health and Human Services building, 303 W. Chapel Street. Can't make it in person? Take a short online survey instead.

If you've enjoyed hiking, birding, fishing, picnicking, or simply driving past this lovely prairie restoration, please speak up and let Iowa County know how much our community appreciates Bloomfield Prairie!

Notes From the Field

Whew! We're getting a whole winter's worth of weather this month. These wild swings in temperature and precipitation are alarming symptoms of a changing climate. But luckily, our community is part of one of the most effective solutions to the climate crisis: land conservation! By supporting sustainable agriculture, restoring carbon-capturing native ecosystems, and preventing the development of sensitive landscapes, you help mitigate the effects of extreme weather and make sure the human and natural communities of the Driftless can thrive no matter what the future holds. Whether we're shoveling sidewalks, building snowmen, or huddling in front of the fire, we are always grateful for the difference your support makes for the Driftless!
