About the event

Register here!

Prairies and savannas are fire-dependent communities, but managing with prescribed burns can seem way too risky, complicated, and expensive. This session will cover factors to consider related to burning, the basic process of doing a "ring fire", and resources that are available. We will also discuss the history and culture of fire in Wisconsin.

Leader: Jeb Barzen

Evenings Afield is a program of the Lowery Creek Watershed Initiative. One evening per month, we set aside time for learning in the field from experts and each other, socializing with like-minded landowners and residents, and seeing results of management methods on different properties.
