B.S. in Wildlife Ecology & Life Sciences Communication, Certificate (Minor) in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Background:
Katie grew up exploring the natural spaces around her hometown of Delafield, Wisconsin. This passion led her to pursue a career at the intersection of natural resources and communication. While studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she interned with the Ice Age Trail Alliance as a Field Engagement Intern, supporting education and outreach initiatives. In 2024, she joined Trailblazers, a cohort of young professionals dedicated to advancing Ice Age Trail initiatives. Katie also worked as a science writing intern with UW-Madison' s Department of Life Sciences Communication, where she crafted articles to make science more accessible to the public. She now lives in Madison, where she continues to find inspiration in the natural world and opportunities to connect with people.
Hobbies and Interests:
In her free time, Katie is on a mission to find the best bites in the Madison area! She is also a big fan of indoor cycling, rock climbing, camping, hiking, and working with ceramics. If there is something fun to try, you can bet, Katie is there!
Favorite thing about the Driftless:
"My favorite thing about the Driftless is the diverse natural beauty. I adore the steep hills, bluffs, and carved river valleys. Not to mention, the diversity of wildlife in the Driftless is remarkable."
